Merchandise Buyer & Visual Coordinator

Job Description:

Bring your education and experience, and lead the exciting expansion of our Buying Department.

This role will be responsible for conception, development, and execution of our company's retail product strategy.

Key functional areas: product concept creation, product line development, merchandising, and price/value perception.

Major Duties and
Responsibilities:

Develop retail product and product lines through domestic purchasing and imports.
Manage Import Program
Manage product life cycle including: pricing, promotions, replenishment, return to vendor, and markdowns.
Source and assess new vendors.
Analyze, develop, and maintain all vendor relationships: negotiate margins, transport, and terms.
Ensure inventory levels: the right amount, the right time, and at the right price.
Maintain awareness of market changes and industry trends including products and competitor prices.
Develop and present fresh and well vetted retail concepts recommendations for consideration.
Develop and Implement Merchandising/Visual Program through planogram. Ensure progress of this plan through store visits.
Develop and implement effective in-shop communication and graphics to drive sales and improve guest experience.
Plan and participate in shop floor set plans, and executions.
Regularly review financial and inventory related performance indicators and initiate timely actions.
Develop and effectively manage department Open to Buy.
Achieve financial goals in sales, cost of sales, and inventory turn.
Perform job duties of subordinate departmental roles as necessary.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

Bachelors Degree or 5 years equivalent work experience in multi-unit retail or equivalent.
Retail management experience or equivalent experience with volume of $1M or higher.
Experience and proven success in product development, product importing, and shop concept development.
Recent, proven experience in meeting and exceeding profit goals in product mix and retail impulse sales environment.
Proven experience successfully implementing and analyzing plans.
Proven track record of positively coaching and influencing others with strong motivational and servant leadership skills.
Working knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Merchandise POS and inventory systems; experience with Counterpoint software is a plus.
Proven track record of handling and managing large sums of money accurately and responsibly.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
